Welcome
Before Bas died, we talked about his artwork and he was very keen that I continue to promote the name JumblyMamba selling his work through digital format and create a small business for myself. After he died I spent 4 months clearing his truck and I found many wonderful original artworks. After offering pieces to his friends in Tortosa. The paintings, woodwork and sketches were sent to the UK, where family and friends were able to select pieces they wanted. Over the last 3 years I have focused on selling the remaining original paintings to his friends. This has nearly come to an end. I have spoken and met some of Bas friends who have all greeted me with love and shared stories of my brothers life. I am very happy that these paintings are now in his friends homes and being enjoyed.
So to my future plans. I have raised enough money to be able to start thinking about how to sell his work in digital format in the future. I have also met someone online who knew Bas and I found out that Bas had given him a selection of digital images to sell through his business. I am working on this at present - https://tallerdeartesaniadigital.es/contacto/
I sold Bas paintings cheaply because I know it was more important to him that his friends had his artwork then making money. Just trying to keep tradition alive.
I hope next year to photograph the woodwork and offer this to his friends in the future.
Please enjoy and let me know if you with to buy any.

JumblyMamba aka Baz
Bas was born in Brighton, Southern England in 1960 and brought up in various parts of London. He started travelling and squatting in the mid 1970's. He attended various schools until the age of 17 as well as working from the age of 14 after not being allowed to study art and provided for himself all through his life.
He hitchhiked and took oneway plane tickets for about 10 years working at a variety of jobs and selling his paintings in the street. He spent 21 years living and working in the back of a 7.5 ton truck. In 1987 he began meeting people who lived in vehicles he began painting their vehicles and was involved with the free-party movement for the next 5 years, it was during this time that he became interested in using wood as a medium, whilst searching for good fire wood he was brought into contact with "wood that was too beautiful to burn" so he made them into simple sculptures which displayed the grain to its best advantage these he sold or exchanged. He never cut living wood but found wood that by chance or intention has been well seasoned in forests, offcuts from woodyards. Recycling old and broken furniture and drift wood for example.
Finding it impossible to live the life in Britain he moved to Europe where he lived on the road or by the side of it until buying a small plot of land in 2012 outside Bitem Spain. Here whilst continuing with his arts practice he incorporated the practices of Permaculture with his own ideas on living sustainably. The result is a living viable garden that has vegetables, water and many types of trees including Olive.
Bas died on the 6th October 2014.
